The Department of Registrar of Cyprus Companies and Intellectual Property announces that, following the Judgement of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEE) in joined cases C-37/20 and C-601/20, of November 22, 2022, access to the Register of Beneficial Owners for the general public is suspended as of the 23rd of November 2022. This is very important because the identity and name of the ultimate owners is protected and may remain confidential.
The Cyprus Registrar of Companies announces that it intends to proceed with the deregistration of companies, in accordance with article 327 (2A) (b) of the Companies Law, Chapter 113.
The Cyprus Shipping Deputy Ministry (SDM) announced the passing of the new "Law on the Shipping Limited Liability Company Law of 2022" (the “S.L.L.C. Law”) on 6th of October 2022.
This new legislation is one of the steps taken towards the implementation of the long-term national strategy for Cyprus Shipping or otherwise known “Sea Cyprus 2030”.
