We would like to inform you about the new high penalties for late filing of the annual returns for 2020 and onwards which will be introduced by The Cyprus Registrar of Companies as from the 1st of April 2021.

Companies which will not meet the new deadlines will be liable to the new penalty fee and can even be struck off for not submitting the annual return.

The new penalty fee starts from €50 and continues to increase from the first date of non-compliance at the rate of €1/day for the first 6 months and €2/day thereafter with a maximum penalty of €500.

It is highlighted that the annual return (HE32) of 2020 must be submitted together with the Financial Statements of 2019 in order to keep the company in good standing; you are requested to contact your auditors or accountants directly to speed up the preparation of the audited financial statements of 2019 in order to avoid delays with the filing of the 2020 annual return and the high penalties
