According to the 1st Directive (ΚΔΠ 112/2021) for the operation of the Beneficial Owners Registry by the Registrar of Companies of Cyprus, all companies or other legal entities (Cooperatives) that were established before March 12, 2021 and each of their officials have the obligation to submit to the Registrar of Companies the information required for the Beneficial Owner no later than 12.3.2022.

In addition, companies or legal entities established after 12.3.2021 and their officials, must submit to the Registrar of Companies the information required for the Beneficial Owner Registry within 30 days from the date of its establishment or registration.

It is highlighted that according to the Directive, the Real Beneficiary/ Beneficial Owner is the natural person who has the final possession or control of an entity or the natural person on whose behalf a transaction or activity is carried out.
